Amare Stoudemire became the first shoe to drop in the free agent bonanza when he and the Knicks announced that he will be signing with them Thursday, when the free agent moratorium ends, the salary cap is set for next season and teams and players can officially start signing.

This gives the Knicks a bit of a push in the LeBron James lottery as well, since the biggest knock on the Knicks was that there was absolutely no talent on that team for LeBron to work with.  The move is also a blow to the Suns, although many seemed to see it coming.

Jedi?

Yeah to be honest, everyone here so this coming. We almost got rid of him mid-last season and decided to keep him at the last minute.

It's also not surprising as our cheap-as-shit owner Robert Sarver, doesn't want to pay anyone. I'm far more upset and surprised about him letting Steve Kerr go than I am about Amare.

Stat is a fantastic offensive player, but he's inconsistent and a medical liability. The guys had several surgery's on his knees and eyes and that's just not worth a max contract. I think what the Suns offered him was fair considering the circumstances. (I believe 93 million for 4 years.)

I'm sure he'll do fine in New York, but they'll soon realize Amare doesn't play defense and/or rebound. He has all the talent in the world, but he comes off as a bit of a head case. Still, I'm sad to see him go as he was one of our most high profile players. I don't know him being in New York will help bring Lebron or not but I guess it can't hurt.
