Cribbs could fill void left by James (Ohio.com)
I don't think there's any doubt that as soon as James said the words "South Beach" Josh Cribbs became the most beloved athlete in Cleveland. Discounting the fact that this has always been and will always be a football town, he was a guy who honored his contract despite being woefully underpaid and when he said that he just wanted it worked out so that he could stay in Cleveland, he meant it.
The top player on the city's favorite team. A player who was undrafted out of a local second-tier college and who worked his way up through the ranks as a backup, a special teams player, a sometimes QB - whatever the team needed from him - to be a Pro Bowler and team record holder? The city could do a lot worse in looking for professional athletes to pin our hopes to.
