On Friday, the Browns signed fifth round pick Larry Asante.  Sixth round picks Clifton Geathers and Carlton Mitchell have already signed.

Is that all?  Is everybody else holding out?  None of our top picks have signed yet?  They are the ones that actually matter!!!

No hold outs or anything like that. As far as I know, all of them have been participating in team activities and whatnot. I know Colt McCoy and Montario Hardesty have been and Hardesty, in particular, capitalized on Jerome Harrison's holdout.

It's not uncommon for contracts to take a while to sort out and as long as the players in question are showing up for team activities, nobody worries about it. The Browns have apparently decided to work their way up from the bottom in signing their draftees, because they signed the sixth rounders before they signed Asante.

So basically, "move along folks, nothing to see here".

Hardesty wants to be top back for Browns (MansfieldNewsJournal.com)

Case in point: the Browns have a group of motivated young rookies this year, no Brady Quinns planning on holding out because they're bitter that so many teams ignored the hype and passed them over in the draft.

Our backfield was up in the air last season until Jerome Harrison got the chance to start at the end of the season.  So far, it's looking like a strength heading into the season.

Joe Haden in particular isn't a big deal. NONE of the first round picks have signed yet, which has the union screaming collusion. The Browns aren't having any issues with their draft class but the league is sure having problems with the union. Let's hope the Browns have a good year this year because they may not have a year at all next year.
