Jake looked good last night even though we lost to the Yankees. Do you think that helped? Is he going to be traded? Do we really want him to be traded? He's not CC or Cliff Lee but I think he's a good building piece.

Last night's game could have been worse, the umpires sucked. They blew that trapped ball and another call at second that could have set up some big innings for the Yankees.

Westbrook is okay and teams might want him for a fourth or fifth starter down the stretch if they think they need to squeeze out some wins from the back end of their rotation but he's not a guy the Indians could build a rotation around. Masterson is supposed to be that guy and maybe if he'd get some run support and some defense he could be. Carmona could be that guy if he could pitch well two seasons in a row. Nick Hagadone is about the only guy the team has in the farm system that could do it. For as much as we hear about all of the depth in the Indians farm system, the pitching is shaky.

The Indians got a deal done for Jake Westbrook, sending him to the St. Louis Cardinals in a three team deal that saw the Cardinals send Ryan Ludwick to the San Diego Padres.  The Indians received Double A pitcher Corey Kluber from the Padres.  This season, Kluber is only 6-6 with a 3.45 ERA but leads the Texas League in strikeouts, averaging over a strikeout per inning.
