There was some poetry in ARod coming to the plate with two out in the ninth, representing the tying run and grounding out to short.
Josh Tomlin was the man last night, he looked great. The other rookie that you're thinking of was Jeanmar Gomez. Gomez was called up as an emergency starter and it was known before he took the mound that he was making one start and going back. There's been no such proclamation - that I know of - with Tomlin. He'll probably stuick around for another start or two until they get Aaron Laffey back at least. Whether he would fill a hole left by a Jake Westbrook trade, I don't know. The Indians have some other pitching prospects that are ahead of Tomlin on the depth chart, but they may not want to bring them up so soon. We'll see. For one of the lesser known pitching prospects in their system, though, Tomlin had to have made people take notice.
