ASDRUBAL CABRERA STARTS AKRON REHAB THURSDAY NIGHT (AkronAeros.com)

Asdrubal Cabrera's rehab assignment is underway.  He played Monday and Tuesday for the Class A short-season Mahoning Valley Scrappers, going 2 for 6 with 2 RBI.  He now moves up to the AA Akron Aeros.  There's no word on how long the team expects to keep him on assignment, but based on his performance for Mahoning Valley it looks like he's recovered well and should be back with the big league club soon.

Cabrera went 2 for 4 with a solo home run in the Aeros' win Monday night.  He is expected to rejoin the Indians Friday.  There's been no word on who the Indians are going to move to make room on the roster or on the field. Jason Donald has been filling in for Cabrera, has been on a roll and the team has indicated that they want him to play every day.  They could move Donald to second base, but Jayson Nix has been even hotter at the plate.  It's a good problem for this team to have.
