Well I thought I would never say it this year but NBA games are actually being played. With this brief preseason underway, so ends my hiatus from the forums, and my excitement for the NBA returns.

Just to talk about basketball, my Milwaukee Bucks had an open practice last week. It was 100% free to the public and was dedicated totally to the fans. Not surprisingly, not many people showed up but the entrance was lined with all of our players greeting every fan who entered. It was a really cool experience to meet Andrew Bogut, Stephen Jackson, Brandon Jennings, and the rest of the team. Its events like this that get people excited for the season again, it was a great move.

As for preseason action, I was able to catch the Cleveland game on NBA TV this weekend. Really sloppy game on both ends but Irving looked impressive; looking forward to watching the Cavs this year, a lot of young talent.

Anyway just happy the nba has begun, looking forward to your recaps on the show.

Definitely a cool move by the Bucks - I expect to see a whole lot of PR smoke blowing this season.

The Cavs are still a mess and will be all year. The defense wasn't awful, though, all things considered. I HATE that they amnestied Baron Davis, even if everybody knew that they were going to do it. I think he would have been a good mentor and it's no secret that I was never sold on Kyrie Irving. Part of that may be because I hate Duke, but I also remember the last time the Cavs got themselves a guy from Duke who "could flat-out score". That guy turned out to be Trajan Langdon.

This is going to be a big season for the NBA. As Jedi and I discussed on this last show, if the NBA thinks that getting this deal done means they're out of the woods, they're wrong. They need to make this season work and not let this next batch of free agents turn into another round of Carmello trade demands or Decisions.
