The Monsters defended their home ice and outgunned Manitoba in their first ever playoff game, 6-4, to draw first blood.  Manitoba came back and defeated the Monsters in the second game, 3-2, in overtime to even the series before taking it back up north.

Lake Erie won the first two games in Manitoba, 2-1 and 6-3, but failed to put them away in game five.  Manitoba shut out the Monsters, 2-0, to force the series back to Cleveland.

Back on their home ice, the Monsters again came up short, 3-1, to force a decisive game seven tomorrow night.

The Monsters are on the verge of choking away their first ever playoff series, but they have the home ice in their favor.  Here's hoping they can deliver a final knockout punch.

After taking a three games to one series lead, the Monsters choked it away, losing the next three.  Game seven was probably the worst.  The Mosnters had the home ice, scored early and then let Manitoba tie it in the second and score three times in the third to turn it into a rout despite the Monsters completely outshooting the Moose.  John Grahame was a wreck in front of the net, allowing three goals on only 17 shots.  On the other side of the ice, Eddie Lack made 32 saves on 33 shots.

But let's give the Monsters some kudos for finally making it into the post-season.  Their inexperience cost them in the end, but that shouldn't diminish their best season to date!
