With wins last week at Penn State (75-67) and at home against Michigan (66-55) and Purdue's loss to Michigan State, the Buckeyes have moved into first in the Big Ten, 1/2 game up on the Boilermakers and Spartans.  That sets the stage for a big showdown this week at home against Illinois in their final regular season game as the Buckeyes can lock up at least a share of the Big Ten regular season title (Purdue and Michigan State each have two games remaining).  Illinois, for their part, is a bubble team as we head toward March madness - so this should be a great battle.

The Buckeyes finished their regular season by thumping Illinois, 73-57, while the Illini were looking to make a case for their NCAA Tournament chances.

Purdue and Michigan State both won their final games, however, leading to a three way tie on top of the Big Ten for the regular season title.

The Buckeyes draw the #1 seed in the Big Ten tourney, which starts Thursday.  With the top seed, Ohio State gets a first round bye and will play the winner of the Michigan/Iowa game.  The Buckeyes won both games against Iowa this year and split their games with Michigan, losing the first game while they were playing without Evan Turner.
