Crew vs. Chivas USA (TheCrew.com)

The Crew finally mounted some offense and they did it against another one of the lower-scoring teams in the league.  Unfortunately, their defnese chose this game to play below the level they've been playing at for most of the season.  As a result, the two teams traded goals all game long with the Crew constantly playing catch-up.  When the smoke had settled, the Crew managed to snap their two game losing streak with a 3-3 draw.

The Crew have slid down to fifth place in the Eastern Conference, one point behind D.C. United and Houston and five points out in back of first place Philadelphia.

Crew 2011 Record: 3-3-5 (14 points)

Crew vs. New York (TheCrew.com)

Against a Red Bulls squad that was depleted by international call-ups, the Crew still couldn't seem to put their offense together.  The defense, though, once again showed up to bail them out.    After giving up a quick goal, the Crew defense kept the score 1-0 throughout the rest of the duration until Justin Meram found Rich Balchan for a tying goal during stoppage time that earned the Crew a draw.

The point tied the Crew with fourth-place Houston, one point behind D.C. United.

Crew 2011 Record: 3-3-6 (15 points)

RECAP: Crew vs. Real Salt Lake (TheCrew.com)

Real Salt Lake took the early lead.  Having yielded one goal over their last four games and facing a Crew team that has had a hard time scoring all season, things looked good only 7 minutes in and stayed that way for most of the match.  Andres Mendoza tied the game with a penalty kick after waving off designated penalty kicker Jeff Cunningham.  Josh Gardner gave the Crew their first lead in six games only six minutes later (with a Mendoza assist) and the Crew held off a lethargic-looking RSL team for the final minutes.

Both teams were affected by the sweltering heat, but the Crew were able to hang on for the win.

Crew 2011 Record: 4-3-6 (18 points)

RECAP: Crew vs. Fire (TheCrew.com)

The Crew were once again unable to mount any offense and failed to finish on the few chances that they did have.  Against the lowly Chicago Fire, it was nearly enough to at least escape with a draw, but a rebound goal in stoppage time snapped Chicago's 0-4-7 skid.

Crew 2011 Record: 4-4-6 (18 points)
