Andres Mendoza suffered a fractured wrist during the Crew's match against Real Salt Lake and his status is unknown, as is how he suffered the injury (although the thought is that it happened at some point when he fell).  The team is working with the league to see what sort of cast he can have and still be able to compete.

The injury couldn't come at a worse time for the Crew.  Emilio Renteria (quadriceps strain) and Tommy Heinemann (hamstring strain) have both missed the past few games.  The Crew could move some midfielders up to cover for the shorthanded forwards, but Dilly Duka (ankle sprain) and Leandre Griffit (abdominal strain) are also out and Robbie Rogers is competing with the U.S. national team.  Even back Josh Gardner (a converted midfielder) could move up, but Shaun Francis is nursing a strained hamstring himself.
